Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Tamarind

Start by preparing the tamarind. Soak the tamarind pulp in a cup of warm water for about 15-20 minutes. Once softened, mash it well and strain the liquid through a sieve to remove the fibers. You’ll use this tangy tamarind water for the soup.

Step 2: Cook the Fish

In a large pot, add the 4 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, gently add the catfish and simmer for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through. Remove the fish from the pot and set aside.

Step 3: Add Aromatics
